Archana Ramgopal

Archana Ramgopal

Archana Ramgopal is currently an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in the division of Bone Marrow Transplantation & Cellular Therapies. Her research interests include the study of post-bone marrow transplant immune complications including graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), in patients with relapsed leukemia. She is currently exploring the role of cellular energy sensor AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) in human T cells, studies which could pave the way for modulating AMPK expression, which has implications in both CAR-T cell persistence and the prevention of GVHD. Clinically, Dr. Ramgopal has an interest in hematologic malignancies and cellular therapies directed at solid tumor cancers.
